Biographie


Après quelques années à expérimenter les sculptures en céramique dans « t’ Bijgaards Ateljee », Gaby commença en 2009 une formation dans l’art du verre auprès de l’Institut des Arts et Métiers de Malines. Avec la combination de différentes techniques du verre et beaucoup d’inspiration elle crée des œuvres uniques dans différents styles.
Comme projet de fin d’études, elle réalisa le projet 'Une sacoche pour chaque occasion'. La présentation s'est déroulée dans un décor majestueux avec quelques grandes armoires remplies de sacs à main et de porte-monnaie en verre.
Toutefois, pour son degré de spécialisation, elle s’orienta vers un concept complètement différent grâce à sa table pleine d’aliments contaminés nommée 'Searching Snow White's Apple'. Environ 200 objets en verre sablé blanc représentent des problèmes alimentaires répartis dans le monde entier.
Ce travail fût nominé pour le Stanislav Libensky Award en 2018.
Elle a participé avec beaucoup d'enthousiasme à des expositions nationales et internationales en Belgique, aux Pays-Bas, en Norvège et en République tchèque.

  • 2024: Stipendium van de Stichting Modern Glas

    • Stichting Modern Glas, opgericht door glaskunstliefhebbers Sam Jonker en Valentine Zaremba, heeft het doel een zo breed mogelijk publiek enthousiast te maken over moderne glaskunst. Ze beheren een uitgebreide collectie die met veel zorg de afgelopen 45 jaar bij elkaar verzameld is.

    Dit stipendium zal gebruikt worden voor de deelname aan de workshop 'Kiln Formed Glass' door Helen Slater bij Bildwerk Frauenau in Duitsland

    • The board of The Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung has granded me a scholarship for participation in a workshop at the International Summer Academy Bild-Werk Frauenau.
    The Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung promotes art and science. It was established in 2000 by the entrepreneur Alexander Tutsek and his wife Dr. Eva-Maria Fahrner-Tutsek as a non-profit foundation. ​ With the scholarships the foundation aims to support emerging artists who work with the medium glass, and to make it easier for them to start their careers.

    • The Stanislav Libenský Award is an international competitive glassmaking exhibition that every autumn in Prague presents the best work of graduates of art colleges from around the world who used glass in their degree projects.
